Pelican Park fly ins.

Now that summer is here the Sunday fly ins for sport kite flyers will now be about 3 or 4pm till dark in order to avoid the heat of the day.

Also there will be a Thursday afternoon fly in starting at around 4pm.

All levels of experience are welcome

Coolum Kite festival

Well the Coolum festival is over. It seems to be growing every year, with a great turn out and a huge array of kites. The local organizers are very enthusiastic and keen to make it a great event. As soon as I can get some pictures I will post them. Watch this space.....

Coolum Kite Festival

Next Sunday 26 Sep, the Coolum festival is on. Coolum is located about 1.5 hours drive North of Brisbane Australia. With some huge Peter Lynn display kites and a large number of kitesurfers showing up it should be another great event. We will be attending, so our shop will be closed for the weekend. Moore Park

Moore Park Festival
Well; a good time was had by all. Saturday produced some nice wind and the buggy crew managed to clock up quite a few miles on the beach. I spent Saturday making Tyvec paper kites with the local kids. The look on thier faces when a kite made and decorated by them actually flies was great.
Sunday was another good day with a little less wind. Moore park is a great place to visit and the locals extremely friendly.

A certain local flyer, who will remain anonymous has won the SS Commodore from the QLD Trading Post*. All I can say is, lucky bugger!!!

*The QLD Trading Post is a weekly tabloid of things for sale, mostly by private owners - think ebay without the auction, and with paper.

Closed this weekend

Dirt Theory's SkyLord 116 freestyle model features 200mm tyres on carbon steel axles, supporting a 9 ply old growth Canadian maple deck.

This is the model to throw under your surf kite on days when you don't feel the need to don the Aleedas (yes, we are a distributor for Aleeda) and get wet.

Serious hard core boarders are the ones who should be looking at this deck with a view to giving it some punishment.

HQ releases two new models for the season.

HQ has released two new models for this season.

The Phoenix is their latest freestyle kite capable of all the latest moves.

It includes yo-yo stoppers.

They also have a new entry level freestyle kite called the Yukon.

The Yukon would have to be the cheapest way to get into freestyle flying.

It sells for $115  AUD complete with lines, bag and instructional DVD.
