New F-One Delta C-Shape

Heres the first details on the new 2008 patented F-One kite.

It certainly looks the part.
No News on thier advantages at this stage however the Delta shape looks like it will depower extremely well without losing steering line tension.

We are keen to see how they prevent the kite from overflying.

Details here http://www.f-onekites.com/ on the 9th of July.

Revolutionary Kite design by NAISH

NEW 2008 NAISH SIGMA SERIES KITES

The designs will be very apparent once used, you will see why the old designs are just that. SIGMA represents the next step forward in kite design and handling.
4 line or 5 line configuration, SLE or Non bridal versions, your choice.

By incorporating straight segments in the leading edge from strut to strut, canopy tension is kept constant. Wind pressure is not necessary to maintain the canopy profile, and at low angles of attack Geo-Tech keeps the canopy from collapsing. By maintaining a consistent aerodynamic leading edge Geo-Tech provides a wrinkle free canopy, large depower range, and stability at broad angles of attack where historically kites with a large depower range have experienced distortion. Combined with Sigma shape, Geo-Tech creates the most precise and controllable kites ever, which maintain this feeling and control trhough an amazingly broad wind range. The front profile of Geo-Tech compared to a curved leading edge quickly shows where the extra canopy material allows conventional kite foils to collapse at low angle of attack and expand at high angle of attack creating instability. Geo-Tech keeps the foil the right shape at broad angle of attack.

Also in regards to turning, the Sigma kite flexes from the center during turns : which enables the rider to turn the kite at any speed with absolute control. The Sigma leading edge produces a hing pint at the center of the kite unlike conventional kites that use normaly 30% for turning.

HELIX
High performance ( 7 strut, Sigma Shape, Geo-Tech, Octopus, SLE Control Sys )
ALLIANCE ( Sigma Shape, Geo-Tech, Octopus, Shift System ) - 5 Line

The design of the Aliance is for kiters that they want a kite with a 5th line but with benefits similar to the SLE. In order to design this kite they took the bases of the Torch 2008 with a flatter arc to improve the low wind benefits and using the new technologies Sigma and Geo ‐ Tech. Easy kite for all conditions - for most peopleUnlike the Helix, Cult and Code, the relaunching of the Aliance is just like the Torch or any other kite with 5 lines.

CULT ( Sigma Shape, Geo-Tech, Octopus, SLE Control Sys )

Cult 2008 is a evolution of already well-known Boxer SLE, but with all the new advantages of Sigma and Geo ‐ Tech. The design of cult with 5 struts makes of this kite that will satisfy 90% of kiters. The stability, the ease of handling, the ease of the relaunching, the low bar pressure are the factors that have improved.
CODE ( Sigma Shape, Geo-Tech, SLE Control Sys )

Code 2008 is a Cult with less details but with similar benefits, perfect for people looking for the best price.

Naish International Team Riders Kevin Langeree and Rui Meira Finish 1st and 2nd in PKRA Germany Boarder Cross

Naish International Team Riders Kevin Langeree and Rui Meira Finish 1st and 2nd in PKRA Germany Boarder Cross
In a best-of-two Boarder Cross final this last weekend, Kevin Langeree (Netherlands) edged out Rui Meira (Portugal) by the narrowest of margins. Langeree won the first heat and Meira won the second heat, but after all was said and done, Langeree was crowned the champion as he had a higher average finish overall. Langeree, when asked about his key to victory, said, “I ran over to the Naish booth and grabbed the biggest board that I could find because the wind was so light. I saw the Custom Wide and knew that was what I needed. It allowed me to get the speed I needed to win.”
Langeree, after also winning in Fuerteventura earlier this year, is now ranked #1 in the world in Boarder Cross. That brings his world rankings to: #2 in Freestyle, #1 in Hang Time, and #1 in Boarder Cross with three event to go.

Kevin and Rui, both on Torches, bested the rest of the filed, bow and c-shape kite alike, proving that the Torch is the ultimate combination of ease, performance, and jumping ability.
Jalou Langeree was 2nd in the women’s hang time with a Naish Torch as well.

Brisbane Kite Festival

BrisKites attended the Brisbane Kite Festival at Murraree Recreation grounds last weekend.
This was the inaugural event and was very well attended. It was good to see a number of buggiers show up as well. I will put forward for next years event that the buggy's should get more exposure.
It's good to see the local Rotary clubs getting behind such an event and I hope they have done well from it. The event was also run by the Queensland Kite Association.
We hope to see you all there next year.
